Minor Alignment Issues with Your Smile Can Often Be Corrected by Invisalign®

Minor deviations in the alignment of your teeth can sometimes be left over from childhood or can result from natural changes in your oral structure as you age. While you might be able to live with a slightly unappealing smile, the improper alignment might also increase your chances of suffering dental fractures and conditions like dental attrition.

In some of these cases, the alignment problems can be corrected by having Dr. Randy Wright provide you with Invisalign® braces. This can sometimes be an effective alternative to the metal brackets and orthodontic hardware of traditional braces hardware.

The process of fitting you for Invisalign® starts with Dr. Randy Wright examining of your teeth. This simple outpatient appointment helps to determine the overall health of each tooth and determine the number of aligners needed to fully correct your teeth.

Once this is done, he will create a detailed impression of your teeth. It will be sent to the Invisalign® dental lab where their orthodontic technicians will create your custom aligner trays. Each set will be designed to gradually stretch the periodontal ligaments anchoring your teeth into the sockets.

You will need to wear Invisalign® in your mouth for 20 to 22 hours each day. You will need to change to a new set of custom aligners every two weeks. Each of them will be designed to bring your teeth one step closer to their ideal alignment. Most people achieve this in around six to eight weeks.
