Clear Braces at Wright Orthodontics in Batavia, IL

At Wright Orthodontics, we provide orthodontic care that addresses both alignment needs and aesthetic considerations. We offer clear braces as an option for achieving proper alignment without the appearance of traditional metal brackets. If you are located in Batavia or the nearby Geneva communities, including St. Charles and Elburn, clear braces at Wright Orthodontics may be a suitable treatment option.
What are Clear Braces?
Clear braces are an orthodontic treatment method that uses ceramic brackets. These brackets are made from tooth-colored or translucent materials, designed to be less visible than metal brackets by blending with the natural shade of your teeth. Clear braces function similarly to metal braces to move teeth, offering a less noticeable appearance, which some patients, including teenagers and adults, prefer for aesthetic reasons during treatment.
Unlike clear aligners, clear braces are attached directly to your teeth. This fixed appliance allows Dr. Daniel Wright or Dr. Randy Wright to apply controlled forces to guide teeth into position, providing consistent and predictable results.
Clear Braces Benefits
Many advantages make clear braces a favorite orthodontic option among most patients:
- Subtle Appearance: Ceramic braces applied in clear braces are made to be like your teeth, i.e., they are much less noticeable than metal braces.
- High Durability: The high-tech ceramic materials are robust, long-lasting, and offer excellent results.
- Stain-Resistant: Our high-tech materials are stain-resistant, meaning your braces will remain discreet throughout the treatment period.
- Accuracy of Treatment: Clear braces are as accurate in tooth movement as metal braces and, hence, appropriate for complex and straightforward alignment cases.
- Comfortable Design: Our bracket systems are thin and comfortable, causing less cheek and lip irritation.
Who Can Benefit from Clear Braces?
Clear braces are appropriate for most orthodontic problems, including:
- Crowded or overlapping teeth
- Gaps or spacing issues
- Overbites and underbites
- Crossbites
- Misaligned dental arches
While many adults and image-conscious teens prefer clear braces for their visual appeal, they are not limited to any age group. Dr. Daniel Wright will perform a detailed evaluation at Wright Orthodontics to determine if clear braces are appropriate for your specific case. Whether you've been postponing treatment due to cosmetic concerns or are exploring braces for your child, this discreet option offers beauty and function.
Our Clear Braces Treatment Plan
At Wright Orthodontics, we develop each treatment plan based on the individual needs of the patient. From the initial consultation to the final stages of treatment, our team provides individualized service in a welcoming environment.
First Consultation
Your initial consultation is a complimentary visit that includes a comprehensive orthodontic evaluation. We utilize diagnostic technology, including digital X-rays and 3D scanning, to assess your bite and alignment and determine an appropriate course of treatment.
Individualized Treatment Plan
Following the evaluation, we will create a customized treatment plan. If clear braces are a suitable option, ceramic brackets will be selected to closely match your tooth color. The brackets are bonded to the teeth and work to move teeth effectively while being less visible than metal brackets.
Regular Adjustments
You will have scheduled appointments at our Batavia office for adjustments and check-ups throughout your treatment. These visits are essential for monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments. We use current orthodontic technology during these appointments to facilitate safe and efficient tooth movement.
Completion and Retention
Upon completing the active treatment phase, we will guide you through the retention phase to help maintain your results. We typically recommend that patients wear a custom-fitted retainer, often at night, to help keep teeth in their new positions long-term.
Advanced High-Technology Care
Wright Orthodontics incorporates current orthodontic technology while maintaining a considered approach to treatment. We aim for effective results with minimal intervention when possible, and Dr. Daniel Wright and Dr. Randy Wright will recommend treatment methods based on necessity. Digital impressions, 3D imaging, and precise bracket placement make your clear braces treatment process practical and comfortable.
With clear braces, the placement of each bracket is planned to facilitate appropriate force transmission for tooth movement. Accurate bracket placement contributes to more predictable outcomes and can influence treatment time.

Oral Care Tips with Clear Braces
Clear braces are a smart way to straighten your teeth with less warning. Proper oral care during treatment will be the determining factor for a beautiful result without staining, plaque, or gum irritation. Wright Orthodontics teaches patients to take care of their clear braces during treatment.
Brushing and Flossing with Ceramic Braces
Clear braces consist of metal brackets bonded to the teeth and tooth-colored wire for a subtle look. However, food may get caught around the brackets and beneath the wires since they are fixed appliances. To keep your teeth and gums healthy:
- Brush three times a day after meals with a soft-bristled or electric toothbrush. Brush around and in front of each bracket at a 45-degree angle.
- Use a fluoride toothpaste and a two-minute brush.
- When you floss, use orthodontic floss threaders or a water flosser to pass between teeth and around wires without damaging the braces.
We will show you how to use the tools at your first fitting, and tips will be provided at adjustment visits.
Foods to Avoid
You will need to adjust your diet to keep your clear braces in their best shape and prevent them from getting stained. We advise patients to steer clear of:
- Hard or crunchy foods like popcorn, ice, or raw carrots can ruin the wires or brackets.
- Sticky sweets like caramel or gum that stick to the braces.
- Food and liquid staining include coffee, curry, berries, and red wine. Regardless of the stain resistance of the ceramic brackets, staining is even more so with the elastics that cover them.
Translucent or white elastics can be employed by Dr. Daniel Wright and Dr. Randy Wright for a new look, which can easily be changed so that it will still look newly minted.
Cleaning Around Brackets Successfully
In addition to brushing and flossing as usual, we also suggest you brush on both sides of every bracket using interdental brushes. Interdental brushes are small, cone-shaped toothbrushes that will penetrate small areas and soften plaque that your toothbrush won't. Antibacterial mouthwash can also add to gum health and breath during treatment.
